Preprocessing
Preparing a source file for translation.
Review and clean up a design file before extracting the text/preprocessing for translation. Part of the preprocessing step.
File is reviewed for bad segment breaks, tabbed columns in charts, extraneous text, missing images, and other issues that can cause extra time after reconstruction.
Reconstruction
Process of importing translations into the design file (such as Indesign, Quark, Framemaker, Ms. Word, etc.)
